My dad taught me this recipe a few years ago, and it’s surprisingly easy. Pasta bakes are great for parties or a large group of guests, and once it’s in the oven you’re all done. I’d definitely recommend this as one of the first recipes you try out. Cooking with a large casserole dish will allow for 5-6 servings.

Prep time: 20 mins

Cooking time: 30 mins

Total time: 50 mins

Ingredients:

500g of Penne/Fusilli pasta

75g of pepperoni

350g jar of tomato pasta sauce.

250g of mozzarella cheese.

Method:

Place the pasta in a pan, and boil for 10 minutes until cooked. Drain using a colander.

Add a layer of the drained pasta to the bottom of an oven proof dish. Using a spoon, add a layer of the tomato sauce. Once the sauce is evenly spread, space pepperoni over the dish, and sprinkle the mozzarella over the top.

Repeat this until you have 3 layers. Make sure to add a good amount of cheese to the top layer.

Place in the oven with the lid to the oven dish on. Cook at 200c for 20 minutes. Once the 20 minutes is up, remove the lid and cook for a further 10 minutes, this allows for the top layer of cheese to get crispy.

Take the dish out the oven, and serve into even portions on pre-heated plates.
